Since 2014, First Tabernacle Baptist Church has hosted collaborative community events that have gathered hundreds across our community for the purpose of community uplift and the tangible support of indigent families and students across our county. This year, First Tabernacle will host its annual Gospel on the Greens Back-to-School Block Party on Sunday, July 28, 2024, in Forsyth Park. This event will include national recording artist Jekalyn Carr, local talent, fun zones for kids, special prizes, and a 1,000 bookbag giveaway. First Tabernacle aims to help families who may not be able to purchase their school necessities by giving away bookbags complete with school supplies to the children of Savannah and the Coastal Empire. First Tabernacle has also sought to relieve families experiencing homelessness by supplying them with clothing and shoes.
